Last night I stood in front of my pantry and tried to make a good decision for a healthy post dinner snack.
First I reached for the wheat thins because these things are delicious!
And then I saw my husband's lucky charms. Yes I am married to a 10 year old. But they are so good.
I also have been snacking on the pumpkin muffins I made over the weekend. The fall weather is already here so I thought I should start with the fall baking as well.
Let me tell you the one thing I will be staying away from this week....
Ice cream. Me + Ice cream + racing = disaster.
5 more days. I am kind of nervous yet excited. I haven't raced this half marathon in 2 years and last time I raced this I completely fell apart and was miserable the whole race. I was slightly under trained, went out too fast and made a few mental mistakes. I think I have come pretty far in two years so I am excited to see what happens.

I'm excited for you! Good luck! My race is in 6 weeks! Erica
Best of luck to you! I'm sure that you're going to do great!
Good luck! I'm sure you'll be great. It's interesting that your hunger changes with each week of taper. I have never noticed it. But then again I don't think I ever had a voluntary taper. I always get injured like a month out and I mess up the last few weeks of training.
I think so many of us can relate to this! That ice cream looks good though. Hope you treat yourself to it afterwards. Have great race!
I often stand in front of my pantry looking for a late evening snack, when I don't find it, I go back a few minutes later hoping something will magically appear. Good luck this weekend!
The Lucky Charms cracked me up. In the past month or two Joe has been buying them!! It is so gross that they change the milk to a greenish color!
Isn't taper great? Good luck in your race!
Cereal and ice cream, two of my favorite foods! Though I couldn't tell you the last time that I had Lucky Charms.
Good luck this weekend!
I usually get excited for taper time becuase then you have the race anticipation, but with me basically missing the last 2 weeks of training, i am not ready for a taper yet as I basically jus thad one. But it is coming in < 2 weeks, like it or not.
I can't wait to see how you do at this race! I am sure you will do great!!
I'm in taper week 2 and start going crazy and nervous. I had a perfect 20 miler and now a week later, I question if I can run... taper madness in full mode! :) You will do great in your half marathon, you have become a much stronger runner over the last 2 years!!!
