I mean, how many times can you say "Great run today!" before it gets old. I really apprecaite the people who comment and say something nice and thoughtful.
Sometimes I try to think of creative titles for my runs in an effort to get out of the monotony because basically I do the same thing every week.
But what if you don't know what to say, is it worth just posting "Good Job"? Or do you need something more, something more substantial? What if you don't support their training or think they should be doing something differently? Is it ok to say that in a comment? Will they get offended or not? It is hard to find the line between a good commenter and a bad one.
In the end, maybe it doesn't matter what someone comments on your dailymile workout as long as they comment in a nice supportive way. Because they took the time to read your little summary of your workout and then comment. And in the end, that really is enough.

I love getting comments on Daily Mile and honestly I have some people that will comment with the same things every day and I don't care. (I actually didn't really notice they comment the same way until you mentioned it) I am horrible about commenting back and I really need to be better about that - everyone loves encouragement!!
I joined, but haven't really used it. I maintain my training log on RunningAhead, and it's too much work to convert it all over. Maybe I should look into it as another way to be social though.
Ha ha! Love the wedgie title!
I don't use Daily Mile, but a few friends of mine post their workouts on Facebook and I usually just "like" them unless they say something interesting about the run that makes me want to comment.
This makes me think about bloggers who post their bowls of oatmeal and get tons of the same "you're brilliant!" and "i love you!" comments. But I think with exercise, "WTG, or "great job" is much more sincere :)
LOVE DailyMile although I don't get on there enough - between Facebook, Twitter, blogging, Instagram! Who has the time? LOL
I have often felt the same way re: comments. Like you said - there are only so many ways to say "Great job." I do try to be original/creative but definitely not all the time.
I'm not a super active daily mile member at all. I rarely comment on others workouts and only really track my own on there for my own records, which I guess isn't really the point of the site. As marlene said, it's so hard to keep up with ALL the social media sites these days!
I love any comment because honestly, it means they took the time to not only read what I did but then that extra moment to say "good job"!
It doesn't matter the reasons why they comment, or what nice cliche thing they say, it's the fact that they took time to be a part of the experience with you and want you to know they are there with you.
I feel like that is along the same lines with commenting on a blog. Even if it's something short and sweet it's nice to know that people care enough about what you wrote to comment on it.
I appreciate getting comments, but I understand what you mean. Sometimes it's just a row of "nice run" and "good job!" over and over again! Maybe I need to start upping my comment creativity...
I enjoy getting comments even if it is just a "Nice run!" every day. I don't mind negative comments as well and like to respond to them. In the end we all are very similar and support each other greatly.
I also like receiving comments from others. It doesn't matter what is said, as long as it's positive. It helps motivate me.
I was thinking similar about dailymile and stopped using it. I know track my workout on an excel sheet, my engineering roots love that better :-)
Honestly I think a good job means a lot especially to someone like me who is constantly struggling with my running. I appreciate every comment someone leaves on my dm - no matter how big or small.
