Happy FIRST of October!
And to celebrate the beginning of a new month (one of my favorite months in fact), I have collected a few firsts that I did today and also a few lasts.
The last fall morning run with shorts
The mornings are getting colder and I think my days of morning runs in shorts are numbered. The temperature this morning for my run was 54F but felt so much warmer than
usual. It might be almost time to bring out my spandex.
The first fall morning run with a headlamp
I thought it was time to break out the headlamp and add it to my
morning run attire. I wear my reflective vest pretty much year round
while running in the morning, but really try to only wear the headlamp
from October to March. I don't really like wearing a headlamp with out a hat or headband/ear warmer because I have an oddly shaped head and it just fit better with a little added padding.
The last post workout green smoothie
I don't know if this will be the last smoothie I have this year, but it most likely will be one of my last green smoothies for a while. I have a few new FALL breakfast ideas I really want to try instead and I have been on a smoothie kick since July so I think it is time for a change.
And tomorrow will be...
The first morning breakfast of overnight oats with homemade pumpkin butter (recipes to come!)

I can't believe how cold it is in the morning, and how warm it still gets in the afternoon. Out with the shorts, in with the warm oatmeal. :)
I soaking up these awesome fall days. Luckily I don't have to always run first thing in the morning and I wear shorts or a skirt every chance I get.
I do love feeling the chill in the air though after being so hot all summer!
October is also my favorite month, love the fall colors and temperatures. Just wish the daylight would still be longer.
sigh all of you northern folks with cooler temps
I'm not giving up on shorts yet!
I'm excited to see your overnight oats recipe, I really want to try it sometime!
I am now in the south, so definitely still solidly in shorts weather.
