Why run in the morning?

I will tell you why...

Because something always comes up after work.  For example, Today.  I was walking out to my car at 4:30pm and I was planning on heading home when I received a call from my wonderful boyfriend Brian.  He was having car trouble and needed me to pick him up at the car dealership/repair place across town.  An hour and a half later I arrived home, hungry and cranky.

It was a good thing I got up out of bed this morning for a quick 3.6 mile run.  Otherwise I would have been one unhappy camper about not being able to run today!  I had hoped to get in a second short 2 miler after work...but obviously that didn't happen.

And that is why you should run in the morning!  Happy Wednesday! Hope you got your run in today!

I totally agree about running in the morning. Plus it leaves your evenings free to laze about!

Happy you already had your run done!

Amen sister - you just never know what is going to come up. I feel good too, all day, knowing that I got my run in. If I get a second one done after work, all the better, but its not a requirement!

I couldn't agree more. Always a reason will come up to not run and I would also be very cranky!

That's one of the two reasons why I started running and working out in the morning. That and because it gives me the energy & concentration I need to power through my day!

Good thing you got that run done early! You're right, things come up so often!

100% agree. Either way you look at it, if you put off a run -- its more likely it won't happen.

Very true... i need to try to run in the morning a couple of times a week. I hate when things come up that prevent me from running after work!

I totally agree! I'm not an early morning runner, but I try to get out before noon or I tend to lose motivation, plus it leaves me feeling good for the rest of the day!

I know all of this and yet I so frequently cannot get out of bed in the morning. Sigh.

I went on my first morning run today! 6am, thank you! I'm very pleased and am going to try to start doing this twice a week!

I've go to tell you J, if I didn't run after work, you'd be reading about me in the news: "Stressed out old fat guy goes on strangulation rampage. Film at 11!"

Running is my therapy and meditation all wrapped up in one.

I work out four mornings a week because for some reason, after work is just not cutting it!!!

Things ALWAYS come up for me after work. I try to run in the morning or work out, if not at lunch time. A week ago, I was going to do my mid-week long run after work and my husband calls me to tell me he scored free play off tix to Sharks vs Red Wings game!! Hello, it was a no brainer! Anyway, yeah, I totally agree!

I love running in the morning too, but it rarely happens. I have to seriously plan my runs into my days to make them happen. Maybe someday I will be able to get up early enough to run in the morning...

I totally agree. Life is much less intrusive on morning runs. You are a good girlfriend for rescuing him, though.

I agree! It's best to get your run in first thing! That way you can't think of excuses during the day.

I never regret waking up early to run. I'm always so exhausted after a long day the last thing I want to do is go to the gym! Also, I just like getting it done with, feeling great all day and not have it hanging over my head
