Our first Christmas Tree

When you live with a crazy Christmas addict, finding the perfect tree can literally take forever.  Ok I exaggerate a little bit, but we definitely spent over half an hour roaming the rows and rows of trees at our local nursery trying to find the "perfect" one!

Christmas is by far Brian's favorite holiday so we had to look at every tree available until we found the best tree.  We walked up and down the roads over and over again inspecting every tree.   I actually thought we found the one we would take home and I took a picture.

But then we walked away and couldn't find it again! Further down the rows and rows we finally found the one - the one that would fit in my car and in our house!

The man working at the nursery kindly loaded it into my car and tied down the trunk and we headed home.  Once home, we quickly cleaned up the living room to make room for our first Christmas tree!

And that is as far as we got! We don't even have any lights yet to put on the tree.  When we went to Target later that night, they were OUT of colored Christmas lights!  So we are just going to have to wait until another shipment comes in.

Don't worry little tree - we promise to decorate you very soon!

My family has had a fake tree for years, so this was a change to have a real one in the house.  I am kind of excited about it but I am not excited about all the pine needles falling on  the ground.

If you celebrate Christmas, which do you have? Fake or Real??

Happy Monday!

I had a fake one when I got married, my husband threw it out. He only wants real. I miss my pretty fake tree with all the lights on it already!

Excited for your christmas tree! We ended up going the fake route this year and last year. It's just easier on clean up and such -- but I tried to talk to the hubs into getting a real one. They just smell so good!

Sounds like fun, picking out a tree. I've always had a fake tree at home.

I haven't had a real Christmas tree I a few years, because my parents usually get one and I just look at theirs. BUT I would like to this year. Just figuring out how to keep out cats from destroying it!

Only a half an hour? That seems short to me! My husband is so particular about everything, I always feel like we are on the quest for the perfect something for him - shoes, belt, sweater, glasses, tree... I was happy we only spent 4 hours getting our tree. Of course, it didn't take us long to get it. But we spent a lot of time looking at the wrong place.

I am excited to see yours with colored lights. We have been doing white lights for years but I liked colored ones! I always liked those big exaggerated ones. And the ones that had water in them!

Your first Christmas together as a married couple! That's very exciting. Do you guys have ornaments for it? I am allergic to real trees, and my husband doesn't see the point in fake ones, so we go without!

It looks great!!! Hope those lights come in soon so you can fully decorate.

My Mom always has real, but we have fake. I'd like to get real for our house one of these days!

Real which is a challenge with two dogs but I love the smell and how it looks and that it will be recycled into our garden mulch.

Fake ones are so convenient, especially the ones with the lightning already on. But nothing beats the smell of a real tree!! Love it! :)

love it! We cut down our tree every year, and this year it took us an HOUR to choose one! Thanks for the tag!
