Sunday was another alphabet date, E is for Event. I know that the title is very vague but we went to a football "event"! I have been a Buffalo Bills fan since I was little and I thought that this would be a great date for Brian and I since we both love football and fall!! (sounds like a lot of 'F' words - too bad I didn't have the F date!!) So here are some pictures from the game - although the actual game was not that good, we did have incredible seats right by the end zone!! I got to see Terrell Owens up close and personal!!
On the running scene - I have been slowly inching up my mileage. For right now I am about 1.4 miles for each run. I don't want to increase my mileage too quick but my legs feel ready to go! I know they say don't increase over 10% each week but when I am only running 1 mile, 10% is not a lot at all. Any ideas or personal experiences with this??
Congrats to all the marathon finishers from this weekend! It is awesome how many people ran amazing races and had PRs!! Enjoy the runners high!! Enjoy the week and happy running!

Aww, your guy's alphabet dates are SOO cool. I love it!!
love the alphabet dates!
definitely take it easy coming on back but I have no idea how you should do that.
...so, whatcha doin' for "F"?
*giggle*
So cute! :) Looks like you guys had fun!!! :)
YAY marathoning!! :)
Very cute and fun date!
CJ
Sounds like a fun date!
Increasing in 10% increments from one mile could take a really long time! ;)
Trust your legs and be smart... adding a half mile or so here and there should be okay! Good luck!! (SO happy you are running!!)
oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!! and sweatshirts, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how much fun-- how the heck did you get such good seats????? look at that photo!!!!!!! TO...woo woo! :) love the date :)
I personally would suggest you increase your mileage by 50% every 4 weeks until U get to the 5k distance. At that point, I believe you can go back to the 10% rule because you have enough mileage under your belt to make that 10% valuable.
As well, every 4th week, I'd drop the mileage by 25% and treat that as your recovery week. Then go back to 10% increase to your longest run for that week prior.
I am in the same boat right now with my running (@1.5 miles) and think a 10% increase a week would take forever! I kind of want to bump it up a half mile a week or slow, unless my shin starts to kill me again!
I'm jealous. I want someone to go on alphabet dates with. :( Haha. Keep on trucking, before you know it you'll be back to running the big miles. :)
You really have the best dates ever. Can you come be the social chair in my life?
Great date! Fun :-)
ah, fall and football! two things that go *So* well together ;)
glad you guys had a good date!
How fun!! Those were killer seats
Thanks for the kind words J! I really enjoyed my marathon experience!
Keep putting one foot in front of the other!
I love football...sounds like you had fun even though the game itself wasn't very good.
Haha...I can't believe you tried to apply the 10% rule for a mile run...omigosh, that will take you like a year to get up to 4 or 5 miles.
My experience when coming back though is that it is okay to start off with 4 or 5 mile run and then add a mile or so every week until you get to 10 and then you can start applying the 10% rule...just my experience...
Nice to see you are back to running though.
