I may have gone a little crazy at the library yesterday.
I have these four books for 3 weeks! There is no way I will be able to read all four in that amount of time! But like I said I went a little crazy! Thanks for all the book suggestions - I really appreciate it!
After I got home from the library I went out for a second run with Brian. He basically never runs, but since we have a 5k Friday he thought he should get out for a little run. First we had to walk to warm up and then started running. I did not want to be running and my legs felt like lead but I pushed on and finished the 1.6 mile run. This morning I ran 3 miles and this was my last run before the 5k.
Speaking of books and running - The Happy Runner is hosting a giveaway featuring the new book by Hal Higdon, Marathon: A Novel. If I don't win it, I am hoping my library will have it soon - although my library really seems to be against all books about running since they have none!
Happy Wednesday!

I have been going crazy at the library too!!! I love summer reading :)
I bought that book at the Twin Cities marathon expo last year and got it signed by Hal Higdon himself!! Oh my, I was so star struck on him. I am such a dork like that!
I hope you like the books I suggested. The Sunflower is a super fast read - everyone that I've recommended it to read it in a span of days. It's one of those 'hard to put down' books. I would say American Wife is the same way, but it's a little bit longer, so you might not cruise through it as fast.
I went on a bit of a book spree at the library on Sunday as well. I got 2 books by author of The Sunflower, and then I bought a nutrition book called Food for Fitness. It's by the nutrition that works w/ Lance Armstrong. I eat pretty healthily now, but figure there is still alot for me to learn!
I do that a lot too, take out books when I know I'm not going to finish them in time. No matter how hard I try, I always have late fees at the library!
I read American Wife, it was pretty good.
I often do that at the library .. get excited and take out more than I can read!
I have Shutter Island on hold at my library - can't wait to read it!
i loved shutter island. i can't believe i didn't mention dennis lehane as a fav! silly me :)
every time i go to the library i never leave with less than 10 books. no joke. the librarians always give me a look, like "you know you only have 4 weeks with these" hahaha
I'm curious to hear what you think about American Wife. I'd really like to read that one. I just got Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...cannot wait to dive into that one, but I may have to work through the last two Sookie Stackhouse books first.
I just finished Compulsion last night. It's a page turner. I bet you'll be done with it in no time.
Awesome, I am all about the reading. I can't seem to read as fast as I used to, though. That is the great thing about the library - get lots of books and if you don't read them it's ok!
I always pick up too many books at once. It's a compulsion! Loved American Wife and shutter island. Hope you enjoy the reads :)
LOVE books! Maybe you will surprise yourself and get to them all!
Oooh I am due for a trip to my library soon but there are currently three books sitting on my coffee table waiting to be read!
Becky mailed me her copy of the American Wife because my library only had the audio version. I can't wait to read it!
It is always good to have extra books to read. You don't want to run out! GL Friday.
ahhh books= <3!!!!! i must must must get the new hal book... afterall, he lead me to the finish line of my 1st marathon!!!!! :)
oohh i have been going nutz at the library all year for some reason, but luckily I can renew online so all is good.

My library sucks for running books too. Luckily they do an interlibrary loan program....I actually went in this morning to request Advanced Marathoning. Good luck on your 5k!!
