Cookies, Books, and more

Before jetting off for a busy weekend, I thought I would post some random thoughts:

Recently I have been on a cookie rampage! Two nights ago I downed 6 Pepperidge Farm Raspberry Milano cookies. Something about raspberry and chocolate together just works for me!! In fact I might have to head to my cookie jar and get some right now!

It seems like reading books and blogging about it has really caught on fire!! Mel at Tall Mom on the Run is having a really neat and thought provoking book giveaway! Also Julia at Chocolate Shoestrings is also having a book giveaway!! It seems like this is the summer of giveaways!!

I went to the pool this morning, swam and then proceeded to go to the locker room to shower and change. I had just gotten out of the shower and was going to get out my clothes when an older woman came in. She came right up beside me and looked at me and said "I always use this locker." Then opened the locker and pushed my stuff out of the way. I guess some people are really picky about which lockers they use!

Thanks for all the comments on my swimming experiences! My arms are starting to get more and more muscular because of it! I did have some pain this morning in my knee but nothing like before. I really wish my doctors appointment would hurry up and get here because honestly I just want to know what is wrong. Right now I am living vicariously through you all and your running and it is actually quite enjoyable! Have a fantastic weekend!

Cookies...I have the same relationship with ice cream :) When I was dieting I wouldn't touch the stuff, now I am sooo excited for my nightly bowl.

Thank you for the mention...not many people have posted comments, but I am loving the ones I have read.

So weird about that lady...

Yippee for buff arms

I second Mel's comment - cookies I can resist, ice cream? Not.So.Much. it's something I don't even buy for the freezer that often because I'm like uhh it'll be gone too soon! ;)

So, swimming and buff arms? Hmm didn't think about how it works all those other muscles. haha, that's good! Very strange about the locker. my goodness, just put it somewhere else. geeeze

Your arms are going to be ripped with all of this swimming! Too weird about the lady with the locker.

J - if we're not careful you'll get out of the pool one day and look at that upper body. And we'll lose you as a runner! I'm not a dirty old man, but I got to tell you that there are no better looking women athletes than swimmers. Well, maybe water polo players. And I spent many years with my kids at the pool during their competitive swim days.

By the way - when you get ready to get a headlamp for night running drop me a line. I'll send you some tips for finding a good one.

Oh - and you want to piss the old lady off? Take a lock and put it on "her" locker.

I'm that exact same way with ice cream. I think it's this time of year that makes me crave it's cold sweet goodness.

I had a similar experience with an old guy at the gym. The lockers are stacked in columns of 2 and I had my stuff in the top locker. While I was working out, he put his stuff in the bottom locker. He left the locker open while he was peeing and when he came back, I was getting my stuff out of my locker to shower.

He started giving me hell about stealing his locker and yelling at me about how much nerve I had to take his stuff out of the locker. I had no idea what he was talking about and tried to point out that I was there before him. My lock had been on the locker the whole time.

Finally, he realized that there were actually two lockers instead of one long one. He was pretty embarrassed and apologized profusely.

GOSH I am a cookie addict!

I really like the idea of these giveaways - I have a few books I read once and liked just fine but don't really need to keep.
