Three Things Thursday

1. I think I have found the solution to the equation of increasing mileage = complete exhaustion. Going to bed early!  Now I have always been a 10pm bedtime person, but lately with the increase in mileage I have been getting to bed between 9-9:30pm and it really has been helping me to feel pretty rested.  Plus I think my co-workers appreciate it because I have been less grumpy.  Although the earlier bedtime is tough, it really makes me use my time wisely in the evenings. 

2. I am trying a new way of hydrating today.  My running buddy gave me some her Nuun stash and so I put it in my water today after my workout.  I have been noticing lately that although I am drinking water, I don't know if my body is actually absorbing as much as it could.  So I am going to try this and see how it works!  Today I am trying the lemon lime flavor and it is really good!

3. I finally gave in and started a Facebook page for Morning Runner!  This is all still so new to me so any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!

Nice work getting to bed early and getting the proper amount of rest. I am horrible about doing this. I know I need to do it, and have good intentions, but never seem to pull it off. By the time the end of the week rolls around I'm a zombie.

I liked your page! I don't use mine for much except the off status update, picture, or linking my new blog posts. I also try to "like" other fan pages from MY fan page, so that I can interact that way and draw more traffic to my fan page.

Early to bed is KEY! I have been up way too late recently with everything I have going on in the evenings. I don't have to get up too early in the morning, but late bed time still sucks my energy as the days go on.

Glad you are getting more sleep! Before I was married, I would collapse at like 7:30 and not wake up until 5:00am! :-)

Enjoy the nuun! I drink it when I run and really like it (although it doesn't have salt which I need).

Good luck with the earlier bedtime. I think that even 30 extra minutes of sleep can make a big difference!

Ah yes, marathon training requires so much more sleep! I think the benefit of training during this time of year is that it gets dark earlier so you don't feel weird going to bed at 9. But in the summer, it's really tough to force yourself to go to bed when it's still light out!

I heard so much about nuun and really should try it. I hear you on early bed time. Even though I don't get up that early, I go to bed at 9pm, read a little and call it a day.
