Basement Bike

Driving home from work today I had an internal argument with myself.

I don't really want to go to the gym.
If I go to the gym I will want to run on the treadmill.
I ran yesterday, I should NOT run today.
I can run tomorrow morning.
I want to go home.
I don't want to sit on the elliptical for 45 minutes. BORING.
Ok I will go home and ride the bike.

I will get out my old runner's world magazines and si
t on the bike for an hour.

By the time I got to the highway exit for the gym, I had talked myself out of the gym and into riding the bike at home. This is why I get up at dark o'clock to workout.

I got home and picked out a bunch of my old RW's and went down to the basement.

I may have been a little over excited about biking in the basement even though it was pretty cold down there.

I warmed up pretty quickly and just kept going for 90 MINUTES! And now my butt is pretty sore.

I am pretty sure that bike is older than I am but it still works. Tomorrow morning I will be up early and headed to the gym to get a nice little treadmill run in!

Now I am finally watching the Biggest Loser finale! Did you watch it? What did you think?

Happy (basically Friday) Thursday Night!

i'm waiting for a weekend where i can sit down and watch every episode. for real. oops? hahah

and CHAMP for getting those 90 minutes in! your thought process is exactly why i work out at dark oclock too. i was trying to tell myself that i'd get my pushups in after work but ended up doing them this morning because i KNEW that they wouldn't happen post work hahah

Good work! I try and watch BL online as it's not shown over here for ages but I haven't this series.. Gonna have to catch up 'cause it's a total guilty pleasure show!

Wow, 90 minute on the bike - way to go! I don't really enjoy biking but I do like that I can read while biking! Makes the time go by way faster.

I wish I had your motivation and could get out of bed earlier and get my work outs in before work... But I am just so not a morning person and just can't force myself to get up. I am the queen of talking myself out of it in the morning!

90 minutes! Wow! You didn't miss out at all by not hitting the gym.

P.S. tagged you on today's post!

90 minutes -- nice job!

The finale was weird to me. But, this is the first season I saw so I wasn't sure what to expect. It's amazing that all of those people lost so much weight.

Yay! Now I know I am not the only one who has those internal arguments :)

I just finished the biggest loser. I thought that a bunch of them looked great! I can't beleive Patrick and Frado! Wow! I can't beleive the new contestant that is bigger around than he is tall. I hope he does well.

90 minutes is a long time to sit around biking and reading magazines. Good work!

I'm impressed with your 90 minutes on the bike! However, question for you - do you crank the resistance up really high? Part of the reason I've started focusing on weights lately is that I almost never felt the burn from either biking or the elliptical, and I'd usually set both at a moderate level. Is your bike an upright (like a real bike) or recumbent? Wondering if that makes a difference, since most hotel gyms only have recumbents.
