Well it has been quite the weekend here. I arrived home at my parents on Friday night with Brian. Saturday morning we were both up at 6:30am as it was the FIRST day of hunting season.
Brian set out to the woods just after 7am and I settled in with my coffee. By 7:30 Brian called the house to let us (my parents and I) know that he had gotten his first deer! I didn't get to go on my run because I was helping him! It was quite exciting!
This morning I was able to head to the track. I was kind of nervous about running on the road because of all the hunters. I live in a semi suburban area but there are still woods and quite a few hunters around. I did another 3x400m repeats with 400m job recovery. I felt stronger this time and even added in a extra 200m sprint at the end!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! And congrats to all the people who ran marathons this weekend!!

I've never really understood hunting. Maybe you'll have to let Brian do a guest post on it.
Good job with the repeats.
definitely not fun running when u know there could be hunters around! wear bright yellow/orange and leave the festive holiday antlers at home i guess. i got shot in the butt with a paintball once when i was running back when i was in high school. LOL
my dad, brother, cousins, grandpas, uncles are ALL hunters!! i've grown up in a hunting family so i can totally understand his excitement! great job on the deer brian! shes a big one! :) :)
great job on the repeats you killed it! :)
Poor little deer. Soon my family will be stalking them too. Ugh!
Good job on the run!
Oh man I love me some venison. Makes me miss home cooking!
That's scary that you could actually be shot by hunters! Now that'll teach me to be scared of dogs. Obviously things can get a lot worse.
Okay J. I hope you snagged some venison for me! Brings back a lot of memories of wandering the hills of California with my Winchester years ago. I haven't been hunting since getting married (over 20 years ago), but it was something I used to love doing.
And if you're out there running, I hope you're wearing your orange vest!
Congrats on the deer. I know he must've been excited. Jealous of the venison roast and sausage your going to get. :)
Yikes, I would definitely be nervous running in areas where people are hunting. Be careful!
Congrats to Brian!
Great job on the intervals. I know nothing about hunting either, but it's really big around here, too.
Wow, my husband will be jealous to know that he got something so soon after getting out there! Have a great time!
Mmmmm, venison. I am so jealous!
