A reason to NOT run in the morning

The last two mornings, my running plans have been foiled because of thunderstorms!  I love a good thunderstorm, just not one that rolls in at 4:30am when I am about to wake up for my run.

Yesterday I had a wedding meeting after work so I just scrapped my run and called it a rest day.  But today I need to get out for a run after work.  It has been 48 hours since my last run and I miss it!

I have two weather apps on my phone and they both told me that thunderstorms were in the area this morning.  I took it as a sign to get 45 more minutes of sleep.

It is tough when mother natures gets in the way of my runs, but I guess that is why it is good to be flexible and rearrange plans.

I was planning on runnign this morning, too, and had to cancel due to a thunderstorm as well. I have plans after work so I guess today will be rest day and I will have to re-shuffle things around to get my runs in. So annoying! The weather has been sort of crappy here lately as we've had SO many t-storms!

I have the same two weather apps on my phone. I wake up and check both. If they both say bad conditions, I usually ignore them and go out, anyway, only to turn around and go back home within a mile. (Yes, I'm smart that way).

The craziest thunderstorm woke me up in the night and I was worried I'd have to skip the run (although sleeping in sounded alright...) Luckily it had cleared up before the alarm went off.

Bummer you haven't been able to get your morning runs in. However, extra sleep is never a bad thing.

i'll second the extra sleep being good comment :)

usually most t-storms here crop up right around the time i leave for work so it's weird to me that they're foiling your am runs!

Oh that is crazy to have thunderstorms in the early morning! And I have to say, that all this wedding crazy stuff has started to mess with my after work runs too. I need to learn to be a morning runner and get my runs in early. LOL!
