Just Horrible

This mornings run just plan sucked!

I got up and ran over to the track to do some intervals. I believe that Girl on Top ran this a few weeks ago - 1200m, 800m, 400m then repeat with rests in between each run. I thought that I could run these under 7 minute mile pace, BUT apparently not! I didn't even finish the workout. I was halfway through the second 800m and I just stopped and ran home. This is Day 3 in a row for me, and along with that I have a lot on my mind. I could tell that I wasn't mentally into the running this morning and once my mind became aware of this it was all over.

And to top things off, my shirt under my sweatshirt was restricting my arm running motion because it was all messed up and it was really making me angry plus it didn't help me run any faster. I could have taken off my sweatshirt but then I would have been cold since it was a nice 48 degrees out!

I am not sure if I should take tomorrow off, or just run after work to give my body more time to rest. I might have to go get some coffee cause I am just not with it this morning! Hope everyone else is having a good day!

I'm sorry it didn't go so well, but dayum you're speedy one ;-)

And yes coffee is the cure all for everything LOL

Oh, yuck. I'm sorry. But you made it almost all the way through! Today is a blah morning for me, too-- I didn't just treat myself to coffee, I actually put a huge squirt of chocolate syrup in it. Hitting the chocolate before 8 a.m. is not a good sign. Feel better-- I know stopping early feels bad but you did a great job on a blah day.

At least you ran home. I hate it when our minds just aren't with it and then little thing just get annoying (like the shirt). I wouldn't have taken the sweatshirt off either. 48 degrees is cold!

The one thing I have learned is that you have to be flexible and listen to your body. Your body wasn't in to it today -- no biggie. It happens to ALL of us!

I would take a day off and do something completely different. Then, run on Friday and I bet you'll feel a whole lot better.

So sorry to hear that, but don't beat yourself up!!! Some days, I feel like just quitting too and then I berate myself the rest of the day, so don't do what I do.

And if I'm not running perfectly, I just want to quit, but every run does matter even if it's not your best!

BLEH i hate those days! and when something like a messed up shirt is happening on top of it, its really not fun!

i vote for taking the day off... sounds like a rest day is due anyways and sometimes its just what you need :)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm- so you've run 3 days in a row? What about taking a day off? Sometimes a day off is just the ticket. I hardly ever run 2 days in a row. I'm an every-other day kinda gal -or I get injured.

There are good days and bad days when it comes to running... I think you're having a bad week. And that's ok. You're not a machine. Why don't you rest a day and go out the following day and see where it takes you. This is just a bleep in your training!! Hang in there. ;-)

Damn. Sorry to hear about the run. Take a day or 2 off. Maybe try something new.

Good luck!!
