Tempo Tuesday!

I woke up late this morning and didn't really want to run...10am is not morning running!! I need to get my butt out of bed earlier before it gets hot outside. Next week I start my "full time", "real life" job so I will be getting up early every morning to run.

Today was a tempo run but it has been hard to find good routes to run here at Brian's house. I ended up doing a smaller loop twice for a total of 5.24 miles with 4.15 miles at a tempo pace of 7:48 m/m. My legs took some time to warm up but once I got going I was going good. My quads have been feeling very tired since the race and the long run this weekend.

Tomorrow is a track day again and then I will rest my little legs on Thursday!

Anyway, I have errands to run. Check out the Happy Runners Blog for a great giveaway!! Happy Tuesday!

Thanks for your words of encouragement about my marathon J! Yeah - I decided on it despite my wife's naysaying. I've only run one before, was woefully undertrainined. I have a score to settle with the marathon Gods....

After this one - who knows?

Great job on the tempo run! It's definitely getting too hot to be running in the middle of the day. Have fun at the track tomorrow!

I assume track day is when you go up to the track and run. Do you run there for accurate timing? intervals? because it is a good place to run?
I sooo wish I could get up to the track and run...but frankly I am just happy to run anywhere!!!

Do you do a recovery run post-race? If not, your fast-twitch fibers will be a bit sore when you're doing tempo runs the workout right after a race.

Either way, good work out there.

Great tempo pace J! :) 10am is still morning in my book, but def doesn't feel that way. Lately 5-5:30am doesn't even feel like morning b/c it's already so darn hot and humid. Good luck on the track!
