TIART: Relays and Stuff

If you have been following this blog for a bit you know that I competed on a few relay teams for my track team this past year. Track relays are the best, because it is the best of the best running around with little metal stick things in hand! Well it is a bit more than that but it really is a great experience!

I have been stalking a few blogs lately and came across the Wild West Relay! Now since I am totally into relays I am so interested in this relay! The only problem is that it is in Colorado and I don't have 11 other people to run the relay with!! I believe I want to put this on my "LIFE TO DO" list or bucket list of sorts! I have never been to Colorado but I love it anyway and I really want to go and see it!

Oh and I totally forgot to mention that I signed up officially (aka paid the big bucks!) for the Boilermaker 15k on July 12th and I also officially signed up for the Half Marathon on September 13th that I ran last year and is in my home city!

Thanks for reading! Happy Thursday!

Yesterdays run was spent at my favorite place...the track! 7x400m repeats! yes I love the track and I am a crazy person!

TIART is brought to you today by Runners Lounge and also a giant cup of coffee I just chugged down!

I did my first relay last year and it was a blast! You should really do one when you get the chance.

okay well coming from a speedy speedster like yourself, that makes me feel better. i'm torn on the treadmill vs. outside thing. i am heading outside tonight for speed hill work. yayayyyyy (that is sarcastic).

oh and kristen the running lawyer and i were thinking we would love to do a relay some time, but getting a big team together is hard.... so we might be game for the colorado thing.

Always nice to have races to look forward to. I think a race in September would be nice. I ran in the 4x200 relay in high school because my best friend was the ancor leg....HATED IT!! Lets just say that it takes a 6'0 engine a while to warm up..

i'd totally be game for that. the longer we have to plan and save for it, the better. plus i can't take any more time off this summer :( boo. so i can plan for that next year. AWESOME!! that would rock, i'm getting excited. i'm sure i could convince one or two of my wichita running buddies to participate, i bet we could wrangle 11 peeps up! YAYAYYA!

It sounds like this week's topic was made for you!

I hated the track yesterday, but I'm going to give it another try. Maybe I can learn to love it like you do.

I know of a team that needs one more person for that relay! A few bloggers are on it... at least they needed one person as of Sunday - email me if you want info and I can send you their info!

I loved relays when I did them as a student. They were so much fun! The Wild West Relay sounds awesome.

I was waiting for someone who'd actually be able to tackle this TIART. If you ever decide to run a relay in the northeast, let me know.

I love the track too-- I just want to be FASTER. :)

that wild west relay sounds awesome!! I grew up about 20 miles from the CO border, it's GORGEOUS!! High altitude-so a little harder to run in, but that would be such a fun adventure. Maybe by 2010 we can gather up 11 peeps?? I'd totally be in ;)

good job on the 7 x 400's. That's what my speed day consisted of too. :) And the morning running thing is totally working out for me. I'm 3 for 3 so far, thanks for all your advice about it!

Hmmm...I wonder if your 7x400s feels anything like the 3x1mile repeats I ran the other day...probably not, you're a track star and I'm, uh well, still recovering!

Great job!

There are relays all over so I'm sure you can find one close to you! (As for the 11 other people? Maybe you can find a team looking to fill its roster!)

Though, I do love their slogan. "Get your ass over the pass." Ha ha.

OMG! This might be a stupid question..but are you running the Boilermaker in Utica?! A friend told me about it a few years ago and my bf and I were going to run it last year but I got injured. Doy! Good luck!!!

I have always wanted to visit, and I'd love to run a relay someday. I might seriously be interested in this next year if you decide to try to put together a team. :)

I keep reading about all of these bloggers who travel across the country for their races, but that's really expensive! The race registration alone is enough for me right now. So for now I'm stuck doing "local" races. I just got back to running so it's all new to me anyways, so I'm not complaining!
